Nadi Yantra

Nadi Yantra is a microcontroller based telemetric device for pulse diagnosis. It is an automated system for remote monitoring of health status. Radial Arterial Pulse has been used for non-invasive diagnosis by ancient Ayurvedic, Chinese and Unani medical practitioners throughout the world for diagnosing diseases and the organ at distress. The diagnosis is done by feeling the palpations at three close yet precise positions of the radial artery.
Feeling pulsations with fingers placed on the radial artery is a highly subjective procedure. The design and development of an instrument for obtaining the digital waveforms is expected to give an objective approach and standardize the technique of pulse diagnosis. The instrument will be validated by comparing results obtained from the proposed instrument with those obtained from standard methods of clinical diagnosis and lab procedures like electrocardiogram (ECG), SpO2, cortisol levels etc. If this methodology is validated then it can prove to be a new yet cheap method to non-invasively diagnose the body ailments. For general assessment of abnormalities, Nadi Yantra proves to be a boon.
